Introduction

The growing public concern over sustainability issues, coupled with the active promotion of Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) development across various sectors, has led to an increasing emphasis on accountability regarding sustainability disclosures. As a result, non-traditional accounting information such as disclosures related to the environment, society, and human capital has been recognized, leading to the emergence of new disclosure requirements such as carbon accounting and a more diversified view of accounting.

Moreover, the Global Reporting Initiative, the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board, and Taiwan's Corporate Governance 3.0 Sustainable Development Blueprint are among the regulations that have been successively released and promoted, having a profound impact on the development of accounting theory and practice. Therefore, to align with the mainstream of sustainability, it has become important for the academic and practical communities to explore the roles of accounting in ESG development.

In light of these developments, this conference aims to provide a platform for renowned scholars and experts to share their forward-looking views on this subject matter. We welcome the submission of research papers and encourage active participation in sharing insights.
